iPhone 4!

WOOT! the fourth iPhone was announced today! XD i am TOTALLY getting one this fall when i come back to the states for college! this morning it was announced at WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference). there, steve jobs introduced a few of the new apps and features. the first thing he brought up was the three lines found around the body of the phone, this confused viewers both there and online. the three lines around the phone show the three parts to the antenna, so the actual case of the phone is the antenna! the iPhone also has a front facing camera as expected and is used for video calls. the back camera is a 5 megapixel camera, has a flash, has a new sensor to improve quality, and shoots HD video at 720p at 30 frames per second. the new hardware on the inside includes the new A4 processor and a bigger battery. the smaller graphics chip + the bigger batter = longer battery life! :D apple also added a new gyroscope to improve gaming experience, so now you can not only tilt your iphone to move something in a game, but turn it to get a different point of view ( its hard to explain, but watch the keynote at apples website for it to make more sense). the resolution was also upgraded to 4x what it was before! thats 326 pixels per inch! obviously since theres a new iPhone there is a new OS to come with it. introducing "iOS 4", the new operating system coming July 1st for the iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad. this new OS comes with a ton of new features like, iMovie, folders, and FaceTime (the new video chat app for the iPhone). the 4th gen iphone comes out june 24th but is available for pre-order on the 15th.
i am TOTALLY getting an iPhone when i go to college! but since im goin back to Guam before i go, im probably gunna wait untill i get back in august to buy one. =/

Ocean Wide

"Look outside
It's already light and the stars ran away with the night
Things we're said, words that we'll try forget,
it's so hard to admit I know we've made mistakes
I see through all the tears but that's what got us here

If love is an ocean wide
We'll swim in the tears we cry
They'll see us through to the other side
We're gonna make it
When love is a raging sea
You can hold on to me
We'll find a way tonight
Love is an ocean wide

I'll stay right here
It's where I'll always belong
Tied with your arms
Days like this, I wish the sun wouldn't set
I don't want to forget
What made us feel this way
You see through all my fears
And that's what got us here

If love is an ocean wide
We'll swim in the tears we cry
They'll see us through to the other side
We're gonna make it
When love is a raging sea
You can hold on to me
We'll find a way tonight
Love is an ocean wide

Love is an ocean wide enough to forget
Even when we think we can't "

By The Afters

I thought i would be like ruthie and post a song by The Afters. This is one of my new favorite songs. I've had it for only a few days and I've listened to it 20 times already...
WOW! its been a week since graduation! i thought it would slow down after i graduated, but i was wrong! summer is finally here and ill be leaving to the states on monday. i think this summer isgunna fly by so fast! i wanna fit so much into this summer, but i know it all wont happen =/ its gunna be a summer full of lasts. last camp, last time seeing some of my high school friends, and whole lot of other lasts =( im kinda nervous about college too, but im sure ill be fine. i know a bunch of people that go to NIU already andim tryin to get to know the NIU guys on the camp team this year. anyways, i just wanted to get a quick post up so you know im still alive. im gunna try to put some more posts up soon! heres a few pics i stole from harvest of graduation but you can see the ones i took here:

A Bit Behind...

ok, im sorry i havent been updating as much as i used to, but this happens a lot doesnt it? theres a point where you (i know im not the only one... *cough*ruthie*cough*) have like 20 updates a month and then the next month you have 1... so im writing this post to apologize. most likely the rest of what your about to read is everything that pops into my mind... just to warn you:

so..there has been a TON going on lately and i have had no time to write. exams are comin up, i had to finish up some school projects, i had to design my grad party invite, im sick, i just started a 500 page book, and i graduate in a WEEK! thats just a few things that are goin on in my life right now... i just finished a book called Just Do Something by Kevin DeYoung. SUPER good book! its all about Gods will and its been a hugh encouragement with all the choices im making with college and stuff. speaking of college, i just got my acceptance letter from NIU last night! i know its no surprise, but hey, i have proof that i am going to college now! i just sent my ACT score to Northland and all i have left is my final transcript and a shot... i hate shots O.o speaking of shots, its kinda trippin me out that i only have a few days left of high school. with it being my last week as a senior you would think its the best week of my life, but theres some stuff goin on that i wish i didnt have to graduate with. but its all in Gods plan. Mr. Fremont gave an example in chapel today about christians bein like hot dogs. weird analogy i think, but it made a good point. christians like bein comfortable in there package with all their friends, but when God pulls us out and puts us on a fire, we're not to happy about all the pain, but at the end when we're done we're a whole lot better than what we used to be. the fire hurts, but in the end its worth it. im pretty sure im still on the fire... i'd rather be a brat instead of a hotdog (brat as in the thing you eat, not some punk kid). *sigh*

I hope to write another post after graduation sometime. graduation is the 21st, my party is the 22nd, and im free up until the 31st witch is when i leave for the states to see family! then i get back on Guam sometime late june and im here for a few weeks. then i leave for college the 27th of august. ahhh! this summer is gunna fly! i hope things get fixed =/

App of the Week

hey everyone! im back from Japan! SEN10R trip was awesome! but thats for another post. this post is all about the game "We Rule". its a pretty basic game. you plant stuff to make money, build houses to collect taxes, construct buildings to sell products, and if you have friends you can hire team up with them to make more money. the whole time your playing this game you try to expand your kingdom and build your castle bigger. this game is from an online source which is why you can play with friends, but since its online you have to be connected to the internet any time you want to play. its easy to learn and its free in the app store. the best games are free games :) if you do download this or you already have it, add me as a friend. my screen name is littlejediman.

iPad Release

Hello everyone, its April 3rd 2010 which means two things. one, the Apple iPad comes out today, and two, my birthday is in 5 days including today. just sayin... ok, since the iPad comes out today i thought i would post what i think about it, both good and bad.

Pros:
1. it looks cool. i mean, if you had one of these and you walked into a coffee shop and started browsing the web people would most likely want one to. even tho it looks like a big iPod or iPhone it still catches my eye.
2. iBooks. apples built in e-reader is the best looking one on the market. its easy to use and has tons of book already in the book store. now, i would never want a kindle or any type of e-reader, but the iPad kinda makes me wanna buy a few digitized books...
3. cost. starting from 500 bucks!??! thats like the best thing ever! now if it just had a few more things i would totally buy one... but there are a few cons...

Cons:
1. multitasking. there is no multitasking whatsoever. what happens if i want to listen to pandora while checking my email or browsing the web. whatever it is, you cant do it on the iPad.
2. flash. another thing the iPad doesnt have. 50% of the internet today is made up of flash, but the iPad wont be able to load the page if it has a flash based ad or video on it.
3. camera. the iPhone has one, why cant the iPad? i can think of many reasons you would need a camera on the iPad, but i guess apple couldnt think of any. =/

so thats where i stand. if i were you, i would wait till the second gen comes out. most likely it will have multitasking and/or a camera...

App of the Week

Aight, so i picked this app before i knew we couldnt take iPods on our Senior trip and the main reason i picked it is cause were going to japan! but anyways, this weeks app it called Units. its very simple and easy to operate. its basically used to convert temperature, currency, distance, and different measurements like that. i thought it would be nice to be able to convert yen to US dollars to see exactly how much it would cost, but now since we cant take iPods i cant use it =( but for some reason we can take iPhones, so i dont get it. if you have an iPhone i suggest you get this app, or if you're a rebel and you're gunna take your iPod anyways you can download this too. And the best part of this is its free in the app store! and btw, since the senior trip is next week there will be no App of the Week =( i know, you all hate me. deal with it.

One Bad Apple

i love apple! but there is just one thing that i really dont like. its the fact that they have 4 different adapters for all different macs. for example, i have a mini DVI to DVI adapter for my macbook so i can plug my mac into a projector, but if i have to connect to something through VGA and i have to borrow an adapter from someone else i cant borrow from someone with the new macbooks because they use a micro DVI adapter and not a mini DVI. its retarded! and if i have to connect to an apple display i have to use a mini display adapter, and theres also a VGA display adaptor. i really dont get it. why cant apple just come out with one standard adapter? or better yet, just put a VGA or DVI port right on the mac! i still love macs tho, so dont get me wrong.

if your looking to buy and adapter for your mac hopefully this will help you:

Mini DVI Adapter:
Macro DVI Adapter:

App of the Week

ok, i know i said i would get this up on friday, but a lot was going on. give me a break, its not like you look forward to this all week. or do you? any ways, this weeks app is "School Days Countdown". its a very basic app, but hey, it counts down the days/hours/minutes/seconds till graduation! and even if your not a cool senior like i am you can use it to count down till the last day of school, or till your birthday for all i care. there's also a setting where you can count the days till school starts, but who would want to count the days till that? idk, not me. this app is free in the app store, just search "School Days Countdown".

While i was writing this post there was:
-55 days, 4 hours, 46 minutes, and 14 seconds
-55.1988 days total
-1,324.7706 hours total
-79,486.2333 minutes total
-4,769,174 seconds total

Trip to Yap - Spring of 2010

after the teen retreat i went strait home. i had already packed most of my stuff before the retreat so i just had to throw some stuff from my overnight bag into my suitcase. every time we go down to Yap we take the Zimmers a ton of food that they cant buy on the island, so i had a bunch of random food items stuffed in my suitcase and carry-on bag. i felt weird going through security cause i had bags of cheese and stuff in there... we also took two coolers of frozen meat and other refrigerated foods.
we arrived in Yap late that night so we didnt do much that day. Sunday morning was our first church service. for their song service they had 2 guitars, a few ukes, and a violin! it actually sounded pretty good, and the people there sing really loud and from the heart. the church there is smaller than our youth group and they still sing louder than us! that afternoon we just chilled at Zimmers house until the Bible study that night. the Bible study took place in a village with no power or running water called Mop. one of the Bible study members owns a house there and hosts the Bible study every Sunday night even though he was unsaved, but that night we were there he came to know the Lord as his Savior! it was so cool! later in the week we went to see the christian radio station they have there. it was really cool to see how they ran their radio station there in Yap. we walked around and wrote down a few measurements for future work on the tower. when we were all done i found the four wheeler out the back and drove around till we had to leave. later that night we drove down to a beach on the other side of the island and had a BBQ. we had chicken, hotdogs, and i bunch of other local food. everything was SUPER good! we waited for the sun to go down till we packed up and headed home. the next day we had some tough work ahead of us. it was really really hot that day. before we came, Mr. Zimmer had cut down some trees toward the top of his property. now these werent little trees, they were huge! he had cut them into three sections so it would be easier to pull down. our job was chain each section of log to a rope and pully system and drag them down using a four wheel drive van from Japan (yeah, i had to throw that in there. most of the vehicles there are from Japan). for our last main event we went on a boat trip. our first destination was through a channel in between two of the main islands. it was so beautiful! at our final stop we jumped out and swam for a bit. the current was pretty strong and we drifted away from the boat pretty fast so the swim back was really tiring. right before i got back in the boat i cut my foot on some coral =( thursday was our last day there, which is why there was no app of the week last week, but early friday morning we flew back to Guam. it was a great trip! Click here to see more pics!

BTW: since i posted this today the app of the week will be posted tomorrow. lemme know if you have any suggestions for it.

Teen Retreat Spring of 2010

this years teen retreat was pretty legit, i had a pretty good time. we started out on friday by taking a boat trip to see dolphins and swim and all that fun stuff. the VCA group went with us, i think they had a pretty good time too. after the boat trip we went to Niko to take showers and get ready for the rest of the night. first we had some free time, some guys played volleyball and some people chilled in there rooms and i just stood on the beach by myself, watched the sunset, and just thought about stuff thats been goin on... wow, that sounded emo... anyways. we had our first session later that night and it was our last time to hear Pastor Schettler speak. :( after we finished we said goodbye to the VCA group and headed back to our rooms. me and a few other guys stayed up late playing risk witch was super fun. wen we finally finished at like 1 in the morning me, jeff babin, and arren bower went to our room to sleep. it was pretty bomb cause all of us actually wanted to sleep and not stay up and be dumb enough to prank. so i made sure the door was locked and got in bed. at like 2 in the morning i felt something tug on my sheets, as soon as i realized it i jumped out of bed witch freaked arren quezada out (who was pulling my sheets) and he threw a cup of water on me witch did nothing but get my shirt wet, so i just took it off... Arren and the other guys that were in there all ran out and screamed like girls down the hall(no joke, it was hilarious). whoever was hiding in the closet broke the door when they ran out. if i wasnt tired i woulda just laughed at them but it was 2 and i was pretty ticked. later they came back and tried to get in again but the door was bolted shut so i ran and flung the door open. once again, they all freaked out, threw water on me (witch did nothing again cause i didnt have a shirt this time) and ran down the hall screaming. their last attempt was around 2:30. i saw a shadow on the ceiling coming from the balcony (remember, we're on the 7th floor of a hotel). i walked to the glass door and flung open the shutter and when miles saw me standing there he screamed and jumped over the rail to the balcony next door. later he told me he almost fell off! i never thought i would ever hear miles scream... haha. anyways, the next day was pretty much a repeat. we chilled, had a few more sessions, ate good food, and played risk. i had to leave the retreat early cause i flew out to Yap that night, but that story is in the next post. click here to see more pics.

App of the Week

Sorry this is a day late guys, but last night was nonstop. but anyways, this weeks app is actually a useful one and not one of those pointless games, and its none other than iStat. now the app is pretty sweet and i cant describe it in my own words so im gunna take it from the app store. you can remotely monitor your Mac or Macs server. see your iPhones stats for battery, memory, disk space, Wi-Fi and cell IP addresses, uptime & load averages. in order to connect to your mac with this app you need to download the driver here. this app only costs a doller in the app store. it's defiantly worth a buck, trust me.

App of the Week

The app of the week is yet another pointless game, or is it? If you think you're super smart you need to try out the "moron test".This is another one of those games you would only play to waste time in the office or pass time during government class. Its really fun to play with friends too. Once you master the test you can pass it on to a friend and watch him fail as much as you did. This game is pretty much a test with a ton of really easy or trick questions. Your goal is to see how far you can get into the test and ultimately to complete it. There are three different sections of the game with 100+ questions in each. This app only costs a buck in the app store.

Airsoft With the Freshmen

So today me, mike, and ryan took sam, rio, and jeremy airsofting, and they all did really well. There were a few times we played Seniors vs freshmen and surprisingly they beat us a few times! The first time was when me, ryan, and mike were defending the second floor. I was standing up on the roof and saw jeremy and rio try to lift sam up to the second floor. As soon as i saw that i told the other guys and we all rushed to shoot them out before they got up. We shot jeremy and rio out and ryan was out on our team but sam just disappeared. Me and mike both freaked out cause we left the stairs totally open so anyone could just walk up. I ran back and had my gun pointed right at the stairs incase sam ran up, but there was no sign of him. Mike said something behind me so i turned around to talk back when *pack* i was hit in the arm! I was like, "dude mike, did you hit me?" , and right after i said that he got shout out too! then sam just walked up and called game... we lost... to freshmen... *sigh*

In another game me, sam, and jeremy were on a team and we were
playing in the old flee market part. Sam was up on the roof, jeremy was moving in from the right, and i was moving in from the left. As i was moving up house by house i saw rio come out, look around, and go back in. I could have hit him but i didnt want to give away where i was so i tried to get closer. As i got closer mike shot me out -.- He was hiding in a bush right in front of me =(

In our last game it was Me, mike, and ryan again and we were playin in the flee market on last time. As i was trying to find a place to snipe i found the perfect spot. It had a hole about the same size around as a quarter and it was right next to a window, so i could look through the hole and see what was going on and where people were before i looked out the window for a shot. I had my scope on rio at first but he moved a refrigerator in front of him before i could hit him, but later in the game i saw him in the door on the opposite side of the house facing the other way. I quickly shot him in the back and right as he moved out jeremy moved to the same exact place facing the same exact way! so i shot him out to. The only one left was sam, and none of us knew where he was. I slowly went in each house one by one looking for him until mike signaled to me that he found him. I ran around the house and me and mike pined him in. Sam was hiding in the closet on the side so i ran right in front and tried to shoot him but he got me first. Not knowing mike was there he let his guard down and mike came in from the side and got a mercy kill, but sam freaked out and didnt know where he came from or what to do so he pulled the trigger and shot mike point blank in the hand! we felt so bad for mike, i just wasnt his day cause earlier rio got a mercy kill on mike and rios gun was on safety! haha, poor mike =P
