Teen Retreat Spring of 2010

this years teen retreat was pretty legit, i had a pretty good time. we started out on friday by taking a boat trip to see dolphins and swim and all that fun stuff. the VCA group went with us, i think they had a pretty good time too. after the boat trip we went to Niko to take showers and get ready for the rest of the night. first we had some free time, some guys played volleyball and some people chilled in there rooms and i just stood on the beach by myself, watched the sunset, and just thought about stuff thats been goin on... wow, that sounded emo... anyways. we had our first session later that night and it was our last time to hear Pastor Schettler speak. :( after we finished we said goodbye to the VCA group and headed back to our rooms. me and a few other guys stayed up late playing risk witch was super fun. wen we finally finished at like 1 in the morning me, jeff babin, and arren bower went to our room to sleep. it was pretty bomb cause all of us actually wanted to sleep and not stay up and be dumb enough to prank. so i made sure the door was locked and got in bed. at like 2 in the morning i felt something tug on my sheets, as soon as i realized it i jumped out of bed witch freaked arren quezada out (who was pulling my sheets) and he threw a cup of water on me witch did nothing but get my shirt wet, so i just took it off... Arren and the other guys that were in there all ran out and screamed like girls down the hall(no joke, it was hilarious). whoever was hiding in the closet broke the door when they ran out. if i wasnt tired i woulda just laughed at them but it was 2 and i was pretty ticked. later they came back and tried to get in again but the door was bolted shut so i ran and flung the door open. once again, they all freaked out, threw water on me (witch did nothing again cause i didnt have a shirt this time) and ran down the hall screaming. their last attempt was around 2:30. i saw a shadow on the ceiling coming from the balcony (remember, we're on the 7th floor of a hotel). i walked to the glass door and flung open the shutter and when miles saw me standing there he screamed and jumped over the rail to the balcony next door. later he told me he almost fell off! i never thought i would ever hear miles scream... haha. anyways, the next day was pretty much a repeat. we chilled, had a few more sessions, ate good food, and played risk. i had to leave the retreat early cause i flew out to Yap that night, but that story is in the next post. click here to see more pics.

App of the Week

Sorry this is a day late guys, but last night was nonstop. but anyways, this weeks app is actually a useful one and not one of those pointless games, and its none other than iStat. now the app is pretty sweet and i cant describe it in my own words so im gunna take it from the app store. you can remotely monitor your Mac or Macs server. see your iPhones stats for battery, memory, disk space, Wi-Fi and cell IP addresses, uptime & load averages. in order to connect to your mac with this app you need to download the driver here. this app only costs a doller in the app store. it's defiantly worth a buck, trust me.

App of the Week

The app of the week is yet another pointless game, or is it? If you think you're super smart you need to try out the "moron test".This is another one of those games you would only play to waste time in the office or pass time during government class. Its really fun to play with friends too. Once you master the test you can pass it on to a friend and watch him fail as much as you did. This game is pretty much a test with a ton of really easy or trick questions. Your goal is to see how far you can get into the test and ultimately to complete it. There are three different sections of the game with 100+ questions in each. This app only costs a buck in the app store.

Airsoft With the Freshmen

So today me, mike, and ryan took sam, rio, and jeremy airsofting, and they all did really well. There were a few times we played Seniors vs freshmen and surprisingly they beat us a few times! The first time was when me, ryan, and mike were defending the second floor. I was standing up on the roof and saw jeremy and rio try to lift sam up to the second floor. As soon as i saw that i told the other guys and we all rushed to shoot them out before they got up. We shot jeremy and rio out and ryan was out on our team but sam just disappeared. Me and mike both freaked out cause we left the stairs totally open so anyone could just walk up. I ran back and had my gun pointed right at the stairs incase sam ran up, but there was no sign of him. Mike said something behind me so i turned around to talk back when *pack* i was hit in the arm! I was like, "dude mike, did you hit me?" , and right after i said that he got shout out too! then sam just walked up and called game... we lost... to freshmen... *sigh*

In another game me, sam, and jeremy were on a team and we were

playing in the old flee market part. Sam was up on the roof, jeremy was moving in from the right, and i was moving in from the left. As i was moving up house by house i saw rio come out, look around, and go back in. I could have hit him but i didnt want to give away where i was so i tried to get closer. As i got closer mike shot me out -.- He was hiding in a bush right in front of me =(

In our last game it was Me, mike, and ryan again and we were playin in the flee market on last time. As i was trying to find a place to snipe i found the perfect spot. It had a hole about the same size around as a quarter and it was right next to a window, so i could look through the hole and see what was going on and where people were before i looked out the window for a shot. I had my scope on rio at first but he moved a refrigerator in front of him before i could hit him, but later in the game i saw him in the door on the opposite side of the house facing the other way. I quickly shot him in the back and right as he moved out jeremy moved to the same exact place facing the same exact way! so i shot him out to. The only one left was sam, and none of us knew where he was. I slowly went in each house one by one looking for him until mike signaled to me that he found him. I ran around the house and me and mike pined him in. Sam was hiding in the closet on the side so i ran right in front and tried to shoot him but he got me first. Not knowing mike was there he let his guard down and mike came in from the side and got a mercy kill, but sam freaked out and didnt know where he came from or what to do so he pulled the trigger and shot mike point blank in the hand! we felt so bad for mike, i just wasnt his day cause earlier rio got a mercy kill on mike and rios gun was on safety! haha, poor mike =P

App of the Week

This weeks App is out to Ruthie Natividad. For some reason she loves this game, dont ask... this is one of Nintendos favorites, and it made it onto Apples iPhone and iPod Touch. Its really no different than playing it on a Nintendo DS because they both use a touch screen. In the game you pretty much just cook, duh, thats why its called Cooking Mama. There are 16 different recipes you can cook some you can even make different ways. My personal favorite thing to mak is either the pizza or the cupcake, mostly because at the end you can put different toppings or decorations on it. XD This app is in the App Store for $6.99, but there is also a free version

i was hoping to have a more "useful" app this week, but i didnt have a good one ready and Ruthie really wanted this one. If you have any ideas for an app next week leave a comment below.

5 Things I Hate About Formspring

Ok, i like formspring, but there are a few things i really hate. It's not like Formspring its self, but its what people do with it. here it goes:

1. "Haters" - Duh, everyone hates anonymous haters. A hater is someone who is insicure about himself, to scared to talk to someone in person, and cant find a way to express himself. So what does he do? He hides behind his computer screen asking people personal, stupid, or hateful questions to try and make himself feel better. I can understand not liking someone because they irritate you or something, but they should go up to them and talk about it instead of being a girl about it and hiding behind their computer screen. These people are like ninjas that cant fight. They're good at hiding, but they cant come out and defend themselves. Now what good is a ninja that cant fight? stupid haters. God loves you tho. =)

2. "Formspring Flirters" - UGH, these are the people that like each other and ask pointless questions back and fourth like, "Did you know that I am madly in love with you?". and of couse the other person will obviously answer something like, "AW, you're so sweet! of course i know that!". Then that person will ask a question back going something like, "Did you know I love you so much?!?!" and it just keeps going back and fourth like that all day! You know there's a thing called e-mail and facebook messages where you can say all that privately where all of us dont have to read it... no offense...

3. "Conversations" - Formspring is ment for people to ASK and ANSWER questions, not for people to send messages back and forth. Thats why people invented instant messaging. Instead of using Formspring you could try MSN, Google Chat, iChat, Facebook Chat, or AIM. If the "question" you are posting on someones formspring doesn't end with a "?" then dont post it -.-

4. "Painful Backgrounds" - When i go to someones profile page and they have one of those optical illusion pictures that looks like its moving it really irritates me.. now kyle, I'm not talking about yours... ok I am, CHANGE YOUR BACKGROUND IT HURTS MY EYES! thats not the only kind though, there's also the really small repeated pictures, those could hurt the eyes too.

5. "Anonymous" - When someone asks you a question about themselves or about something you're doing later, but doesnt leave their name. Like, "Hey, you wanna hang out at the mall later?". Sure... Who are you??? Or when they're like, "Do you like my eye color?". I have no idea dude, tell me who you are! Whats even worse though is when someone answers it. Like, "Hey, do you like me?" and they answer,"Yeah! Who are you tho?". I think thats just kinda dumb...

Ok, so dont get me wrong. I like Formspring, but if you avoid doing those five things I guarantee Formspring will be a much better place! XD on a side note, you can ask me a question here on my blog by entering your question in the textbox toward the bottom of the sidebar over there-->

App of the Week

Alright, this weeks app is the NBC Olympics app! You know, since its the Winter Olympics and all I figured it would be cool to have this app handy. The first thing I really liked about this app is it gives the times of the events in your time zone. As you can see in the first picture it gives the events in "guam time". Now thats a nice feature to have especially if you live outside the U.S. On the home page it gives you all the top stories, featured topics, the medal count, photos, video, and even updates from twitter! The one thing I didnt like about this app was the videos only work in the U.S. so people like me who live outside the U.S. cant use that feature. =( But over all its a good app to have, for now at least, and its free in the App Store!

Airsoft

today wasnt a very good day for airsoft. a lot of things went wrong. for one, we had six guys and six guns, but when we got to our airsoft spot two of the guns stopped working. so during one of the rounds i wasnt playing i walked around and took some panoramas cause i knew some people wanted to see where we play...

App of the Week

This weeks iPhone/iPod app is none other than... BATTLE BEARS!!!! this app is NOT useful at all, but its tons of fun! in this game your a bear fighting off stuffed bears using any weapons/materials you find lying around. it takes 2 shots to take out a bear, but if you get a head shot its an insta-kill and rainbows shoot out of there heads! XD You also fight tons of crazy bosses like the Bearber Quartet and random stuff like that. This app now costs 1.99 in the app store but there is a free version available. if you often find yourself bored at the office, at home, or in class, i highly recommend this app!

Best Airsoft Day Ever!

Today me, Mike, Clayton Leonidas, Nick G., J Frees, and Jay went out after the Superbowl and played some airsoft. We played CQB most of the time and capture the flag once. the capture the flag round was a failure and CQB was awesome. the first round was me, jon, and jay and we were defending the house. i was in the bathroom, jon was in the side room, and jay was defending the stairs... wow, theres a lot of lists... anways, clayton was tryin to come in from the side but i happened to see him and i shot him as he was tryin to hide. jay got shot out at the stairs and i ran to see who was down there, and when i got there i saw nick running away so i shot him out. when i went back to the window in the bathroom i saw mike tryin to snipe jon and i emptied my clip on him. XD the capture the flag round was really bad. me and mike were so far away that our bullets kept getting caught in the wind and we kept shanking, so all we did was yell at each other untill he got lucky and hit me in the mask. the last round we played in the house nick got hurt so it was just me and jay vs. mike, jon, and clayton. in the first 30 seconds of the game i shot clayton right as he walked in! XD he was sooo mad at me! this round seemed to go on and on when finally i was looking out the window when someone pushed a door out onto the roof. i saw someones hand trying to move the door so i shot at it but missed. everything went quiet... until "BANG BANG BANG". jon fremont was trying to break through the wall! when it didnt work mike moved the door to the middle of the roof and just stood behind it hiding -.- jon went down and tried coming up the stairs. he shot jay out and i turned around just in time to catch him running down the stairs. after i shot him i ran to the side room to get mike from the side but he moved the door to block me from that angle, so i ran back to the bathroom window and shot him out before he could hide behind his door again! UHHH SON!!

oh, and clayton isnt in any of the pictures cause he was still mad cause i shot him out in the first 30 seconds... XD

ok, so im gunna try something new. i was tryin to think of something that i ould update weekly and came up with this idea. so here it goes:

this weeks app is called "touchmouse" by logitech. to use this app you need to download the app to your iPod or iPhone and install the driver from http://logitech.com/touchmouse onto the computer of your choice. with this app you can connect to your computer using Wi-Fi and use your iPod as a touch pad like you would find on a laptop. for you mac users out there, you can still use most of the multi-touch motions on this app like you would use on a macbook such as using two fingers to scroll up or down a webpage. touchmouse also features an onscreen keyboard that can be used in either upright or landscape mode. this app is free and very easy to use!

its been a while

Wow, its been so long since i've updated this thing. theres so much stuff thats happened since i last posted!
